At Espresso Machines Direct, we specialize in high-value, precision espresso equipment that requires careful handling, inspection, and preparation prior to shipment. Because of this, all approved returns are subject to the following restocking terms.
1. Restocking Fees
All approved returns are subject to a restocking fee of up to 25% of the item’s purchase price, based on the condition of the returned product.
This fee helps offset costs associated with:

Outbound and return shipping

Professional inspection and testing
-
Repackaging and reconditioning
-
Payment processing and transaction fees
-
Loss of resale value once equipment leaves our facility
Restocking fees are deducted from the refund and are non-negotiable.
2. Condition-Based Restocking Fees
Returned items are inspected upon arrival. Restocking fees are assessed as follows:

15% – New, unused items returned unopened in original packaging

20% – Opened items with no signs of use
-
25% – Used, tested, or installed machines and grinders
-
Up to 50% or return refusal – Items with cosmetic damage, scale buildup, missing parts, accessories, manuals, or original packaging
Items returned in a condition that prevents resale may be denied a refund entirely.
3. Non-Refundable Costs
The following charges are non-refundable under all circumstances:

Original shipping and handling fees

Expedited or freight shipping costs

Installation, calibration, testing, or setup services

Custom or special-order items
If free shipping was provided, the actual shipping cost incurred by Espresso Machines Direct will be deducted from the refund.
4. Return Authorization Required
All returns require prior approval and a Return Authorization (RA).

Unauthorized returns will not be accepted

Items shipped to the wrong address may be refused

Refused deliveries may incur additional fees and are not guaranteed a refund
5. Espresso Machines, Grinders & Water Equipment
Due to sanitation, safety, and depreciation concerns:

Espresso machines and grinders are not eligible for return once used with water, coffee, or milk
-
Water reservoir use, pump activation, or grinder burr contact may result in partial or no refund
-
Machines showing scale, residue, or wear are considered used
Commercial equipment, plumbed machines, and water filtration systems are final sale unless otherwise stated in writing.
6. Refund Processing
Approved refunds are processed 7–14 business days after inspection and approval. Refunds are issued to the original payment method, minus applicable restocking and non-refundable fees.
7. Chargebacks & Disputes
Customers are encouraged to contact us directly with any concerns prior to initiating a chargeback.
Chargebacks may result in:

Immediate forfeiture of return eligibility

Documentation submission to payment processors
-
Restriction of future purchases
8. Policy Agreement
By completing a purchase from Espresso Machines Direct, customers acknowledge and agree to this Restocking Fee Policy in full.
